Confirmation of Enrolment now issued with reduced course load for Charles Sturt students

Confirmation of Enrolment now issued with reduced course load for Charles Sturt students

In a continuation of the support provided to students commencing their studies in a face-to-face virtual learning environment, Charles Sturt University Study Centres is allowing students starting offshore in November to take a reduced course load.

Students will now also be eligible to receive an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) with the option to reduce their course load. Students will be required to pay the full session tuition fees upfront as stated on their offer letter, in order to receive an eCOE, however, will have the flexibility to study between one to four subjects this November.

Receiving an eCOE allows students to apply for an Australian student visa, meaning every subject completed online, whilst with a valid student visa, will count toward their application for a Graduate Temporary visa when they complete their course.

If your students intend on taking a reduced course load, they must complete their degree in the time allocated on their student visa. For the latest information and recent announcements by the Australian government regarding student visas and post study work rights refer to immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.

Top Universities in Australia

Top Universities in Australia:

Despite falling five positions worldwide in the 2020 QS World University Rankings, ANU is still ahead of the country’s next-best university.
Of the 35 Australian universities that will be rated this year, only five have fallen in rank since last year with one of them being ANU. In general, remarkable improvements have been made by Australian universities.
An increase in the proportion of international students at many Australian universities has been one factor driving that improvement.

Year 12 Further Maths

At the end of last term, the Year 12 Further Maths class sat their first SAC, an application task for the Data Analysis topic. The theme for this year’s task was to analyse recent horse racing results, using the statistical techniques learnt in class, to see if there was a correlation between a horse’s starting price (odds of winning) and its finishing position. Each student analysed a different set of race results. In most cases there was not really a strong association between the odds and placings. This goes to show that betting on horse racing is not a good idea unless you are prepared to lose money!

This term we are studying Financial Arithmetic. Students learn how things like investments, loans, mortgages, annuities etc. work and will sit their SAC in a few weeks. Hopefully they will be well informed when it comes time for them to make an investment or one day buy a house. Certainly a better option than horse racing!
